The Harrisburg Bike Club has a number of really nice ride for "beginners". My adult daughter is a beginner so we often go on these rides. They are great little rides with really nice people.
The club
web site says “Introductory Rides - This is that beginner's ride you've been looking for. Nice and easy, no one gets left behind, and all questions are welcomed along with new riders. These rides are perfect for families, with the kids on that bike seat or on their own bike. The Wednesday night rides always leave at 6:00pm and are 8-10 miles long at an 8-10 mph pace. They have resumed.”
If you are an early riser there is also a Sunday Morning ride that starts at City Island and goes all around the city. Since it’s before 8 am the streets are empty and you get a taste of riding in downtown. There is a breakfast at a local restaurant after the ride. We’ve been on this one too and it’s a blast no mater how experienced you are or aren’t.
Go to their
web site and click on he newsletter archives to download the newsletter. All the details are in there.
Yo don't have to be a member to ride with us. You just need a bike and a helmet. Hope to see you on one of the rides.
