Mid 20Fs with a crosswind. Overcast. Some patches of ice in the usual (always-shaded) section, so I had to slow down and be careful with the summer tires. No problems.

As reported yesterday, I had a flat tire. Last night I pulled it and found a tiny shard of glass had gone right through the thickest part of the tread, dead center, and barely pierced the tube. I cleaned it up, patched it, and put it back on. Looks like it's holding air okay today.

How come I can ride for 3 years on 27x1&1/4 road tires and never get a flat, but I get a flat 2 days after mounting thicker, wider, beefy tires.
