4:15am - The rural portion of my morning commute. I was in the left turn lane, slowing to the red stoplight. A white pickup was coming up fast and decided he didn't have room/time to get in front of me, so he slowly approached the light behind me. As I waited for the light to change, the driver opened his window and called to me, "Hey..."
(I winced, expecting to catch some grief about cluttering up the roadways)
He continued, "...your belt ain't working today."
After a moment of confusion, I looked down at my belt of incredible ugliness (
http://www.sciplus.com/recommend.cfm...ry=196&start=1 ) and realized I hadn't turned it on. I did so, and thanked him for letting me know.
Commuting in to work by bike is fun, but that little episode made today's ride even nicer.
