OCP is concerned with looking as much like a Pro rider as possible, except for 1 key element: actual talent/riding ability.
Freds on the other hand:
1) Wear Camelbacks for 2 hours group rides (with a stop at Starbucks in between)
2) Wear sleeveless jerseys, yet have either no muscle tone or worse, fat arms.
3) Wear mirrors on their helmets, and as if often the case, wear older helmets with the "fish net" stocking cover (see old Bell helmets for examples)
4) Ride a road bike as UPRIGHT as possible.
5) ALWAYS have a Granny gear, and it is the gear used in every situation except down hill, when the middle ring is used)
6) Ride a modern road bike with a Brooks.
7) Always ride with reflectors on their ankles, clothes etc.. for mid-day rides.
8) Ride with lights attached to their bikes during the day (just in case they get lost on the route they have ridden for the past 5 years).
9) Wear Shamu jerseys or the Wheaties jerseys or any jersey that calls attention to them in as bad a way as possible. (Hint: if you want to spot a potential Fred at the office - look for middle aged manager wearing either Mickey tie or holiday themed ties.)
10) Never reach 80% of heart rate.
11) Spend as much time getting ready for the ride as they do actually riding.
12) Will spend more time driving to the ride site than they do riding.
13) Proceed to tell coworkers about their rides without realizing no one honestly cares (even their spouses) about their rides.
The ultimate troll-off...botto versus VT Biker...lol.
It is rare that botto is correct but this time he wins. What a surpise that VT Biker is wrong...not.
Fred = OCP because Brad Pit on a huffy > Tom Cruise with or without an OCP clown "costume".
