Bikes: mid-60's Dunelt 10-speed, Specialized Allez Sport Tripple, Trek 7.2 FX

Remove the bolt that holds the brake and drive the star nut down and out of the bottom of the steerer tube. Insert it again from the top and push it down to the proper position. That comes from Zinn's book on road bike maintenance.
