My brother did the ride on his MTB though. At first he was intimidated by all the roadies and their gear. We started a little fast and he got discouraged and turned back down where Pierce met Big Basin. But when he got to the bottom, he felt better and went back up. He actually saw us leave the fire-station from about 1/2 mile away and tried to catch on. Saw us turn down Pagemill when he got a flat from all those little nails that was strewn everywhere!
His replacement tube didn't have a long enough stem to reach through the rim so he sat on the side of the road until someone came along that had a valve-adaptor. He'll be along next time for sure!
