The new paint scheme is fine. A matte finish would be nice on a mountain bike. Repainting's kind of a behatch though, especially if you're doing it yourself. A green powdercoat would look quite dope.
The only thing I'd change about the bike, on a stylistic level, is the housing. Those white ones look kind of goofy.
