Stupid people and dogs don't just reside on MUPs. A dog on a local training route was just put down for biting people. This dog would ambush cyclists by jumping out from behind a bush at them. If you yelled at him at all he would run home. Most of the time it happened too quickly to react. He bit a slower rider a couple of weeks ago- he befriended the dog and went to the front door of the house to talk to the owners. They were unsympathetic and he called animal control.

This particular dog had many complaints about chasing bikes, pedestrians, and cars. He had also bitten three people (one a deputy sheriff). The third bite was the final straw and the dog was put down (don't know who ordered it). My question remains: Three bites? This dog showed dangerous behaviors and the owners showed indifference so why did it take so long.

Stupid people exist everywhere and you happened to run into one on a bike path.
