Since getting my Dominators, I've never worn my Tahos again and I don't miss them at all. I think the Dominators look pretty cool and I don't worry about people thinking that they look like bike shoes. That's what they are!
I hope you enjoy your Tahos. You probably will; it seems like I'm the only one who doesn't like them.
That's part of why I wanted a more compliant shoe, the flexibility to walk around with them when off bike. It's a compromise I'm willing to try. I can't think of any SPD shoe I have own where the cleats didn't click somewhat. As for the durability of the cleats. I don't think it should be an issue. I have a set of cleats on my Dominators that have seen 4 pairs of shoes and been in use for about 15 years. They still work well, luck perhaps? I just wanted new toned down shoes
These are the units I have been wearing over winter, they not only click, but the soles clack as well. Add to that they look really dorky, but they are warm, and the neoprene gaiter is a fantastic item. It's flexible to make the boot feel like a shoe in function, but protects like a boot.
So far the Tahos have been feeling fine. I think I'll rip the SPD panel off and mount the cleats

I like the look and feel of these very much. They match my new MTB very well and look awesome on it I'm told
I know what you are saying however, I love my Dominators, but I'm pretty adaptable. Did you pitch your Tahos?
