Sorry for the late reply. I checked and it's the rim tape that has a hole in it and the whole on the tube corresponds to the hole where the rim tape whole is. I ran my finger by the hole on the rim tape and did not feel any sharp object sticking out. My thinking is that the tube @80-82 PSI is squeezing through the hole in the rim tape and catching something. Thankfully I've not had any flats while under a load (while riding). My tires are 26"x1.75" Continential Travel Contacts rated for 80 PSI (tho some people have told me some newer models of Travel Contacts and Town & Country are rated at 85 PSI while thier website says something like 65PSI). I guess you pump up to whatever the PSI rating is printed on the tire then whatever the website tells you right?

Does anyone have a link to the manufactuer of this Velorx something rim tape? What is the best rim tape to date? One LBS said the best is nylon. The rim tape I have right now is 26" x 18mm and the taped area is where the valve hole is. The rim tape moves around freely/easy if you push it a bit.
