Hello all...James in Boise, Idaho here.
I am 6'7" and about 335 (down from 365+) with a 36" inseam.
Needless to say, I can stand to lose a lot of weight and get in better shape.
Other than the beer gut I am healthy and able to ride.
Looking specifically for advice on a LWB recumbent that can accommodate my robust figure.
My old beat-up Univega is killing me (and it's barely staying together)...though I am losing weight.
Not interested in a trike and my 20 mile mostly rural commute does have some climbing.
I am looking to spend under 2K including any necessary modifications (heavy duty wheels, seat, etc.).
I'm not racing or in a huge hurry to get to work so if the bike turns out to be a bit heavier than "normal" then that is okay with me...I would rather the bike be sturdier and a bit heavier (and hopefully cheaper) than have all kinds of carbon fiber or titanium bells and whistles.
Any advice on makes and models and any necessary modifications would be much appreciated.
