John Howards' speed was just OK. 152 MPH, I have handled that bike and still have some salt that was scraped off of it after the run. Yet over 10 years later he helped a man go 14 MPH faster, 167 MPH. Same deal, on the salt, drafting a Bonneville streamliner.
Myself ~26 on the flat, 45 downhill on a loaded touring bike, and 70 MPH down a Colorado hill in a faired recumbent.
