Nah, it was designed using the same board/chip/RAM/VGA design all PC's use as far as I know. Only difference is that they put something (again, don't really know what....some kind of physical chip) into the board that the OS verifies is there so that you can't run OS X on any old PC.

Apple still wants to think they're a hardware company with. Which i'm mostly OK with because their hardware is solid, but it wouldn't hurt if they opened it up a bit.
