I have the dmr tensioner and it makes alittle noise, but less than the r.der did before. I picked up some bmx chainring bolts that are short to get rid of the extra chainring. I have run washers as spacers on another bike before and never encountered any propblems, but the lbs cautioned against it. Not sure why but the cost of the new bolts wasn't much so no biggie.
