I'm more comfortable on my Nitto 38's because my shoulders curve inward naturally. However even on my old 40cm's I occasionally clipped my bag on mirrors and the like. It won't buy you much space after a point; the only plus after a certain size is that your hands aren't guaranteed to hit first all the time.
