I'm in the Hampton Roads area of VA, on the NC border. I ride a schwinn Mesa that has been my only bike since I was 14. used to attach a cargo carrier to the back of it and secure a milk crate to it and that was my 8 mile commuter for my paper route and my girlfriend 7 miles further away. Up until I was 15 and a half and moved from MA to VA and discovered Jeeps and having a permit/license.

I'm 21 now, and wanted to get back into it, as I loved it so much when I was younger, and -if all else fails and my jeep breaks down after using it offroad, I have a backup.. Thankfully I haven't had to EVER resort to that. (The roads and the drivers are fierce down here!)

But now that I've been reading things on here and elsewhere, I'm realizing I need to update my bike, and that there are soo many parts, I can really make it my own. This bike was stock until recently, when I added the cycle pro pedals, Judy TT fork and maxxis tires. The rear rim is a double walled deore that is not 100% true, back when I thought riding on solely one wheel was cool. But it keeps me straight and is still pleasant to ride. the grip shifts have GOT to go, and the haphazard BMX grips i had the LBS modify to fit will not cut it anymore either. Time for some ourys and the trigger attack shifters.

and when I hear y'all referring to rigs, i've always thought of those to be motored vehicles. Not a mountain bike. But here are my rigS. One carries the other!

Congrats and welcome. I am new myself but there is a ton of information on this site. A lot of good reading and ideas.
