Denny hill in seattle is ****ing steep. even on a geared bike you end up going so slow its faster to walk. that said you can just go around it a few blocks and it doesn't take that much longer. anyway, its not like you have to tell anyone in this town its a labor of love to ride with a single gear.

I've put my bike on the bus exactly once, mostly because I was with my girl who was on foot and didn't want to just ditch her.

there's also a lot of people who commute across the lake and only one of the bridges has a bike lane. the other one you have to throw it on the bus or ride an extra 13 miles around.
