I use the Forte gt2/k tires from Performance Bicycles... Cost about $13 as well. I picked up a cheapie tire at a local LBS to replace one of them a while back (They moved my Performance store, it's a pain to get to now ) the tire lasted less than 500 miles! The rubber was soft, had no traction at all... every time I touched my back brake, the tire would skid. I took it off when I saw the two HUGE bald spots that had no rubber left at all, just the cords!

The performance ones last me over 3,000 miles (I've got one on the front that currently has almost 5,000 miles on it, the rear is approaching 4,000)

These ones!

There's a Performance store in the Springs
