"Pulling the trigger" to someone who has actually had the experience symbolizes a single, explosive, sudden action following significant planning and preparation. Think of the amount of homework most people do when buying a high-end bike, then think of how easy it is to write that check or swipe that credit card. Your fear and ignorance of guns just means you don't understand it. Not saying that to be insulting, BTW--you probably just don't have the experience. As someone who spent 4 years on the rifle team in college, it makes perfect sense.
