I realize what you're saying Twofer, but in this case, I checked ebay (I seriously checked out almost every bike with a close end date within my price range and then compared it with what my LBS gave me. I did shop both and in the end, my LBS gave me a brand new 2003 OCR2 for $550, something I probably won't be able to find on ebay anytime soon.

Today I went to the LBS that sold my gf and I our first bikes and I got a new pack, computer, cage, patch kit, levers, pump, and a light, it came out to be $90 total. If I would have bought the stuff on sale from performancebike, it would've come out to $60 total with $12 2-day shipping, $72. A difference of $18 is really too little to justify for not supporting my lbs.

I do buy things on ebay and sell stuff on ebay as well as things online. OTOH, my gf got me a light&motion dual light for $150 and the nearest equivalent at the lbs was $350, and $200 I feel is more than enough justification for buying it online. Yes it is my hard earned money.
