I have been on bit of a dry spell until today. First decent weather weekend were I could go out to garage sales led to these two bikes three houses down from each other.
Schwinn Letour with all Le tour branded stuff. Tires need replaced and it could use a cleaning. It is a 23" frame. It must have been a Friday made bike because there is no stamp on the headbadge. Guessing late 70's?
Shogun with Tange No. 5 tubing in great shape. Shimano 600 arabesque shifters, f/r deraill., and brake levers. Shimano Tourney brakes and crankset. The cable clips for the rear brake are Dura Ace. Previous owner was nice enough to put some new Profile bar tape on for me too. This bike should clean up real nice.
I paid $10 for the Le tour and $25 for the Shogun. I also passed up a few others today. A Centurion Sport DLX that had been crashed (owner was surprised I was able to tell just by looking at it), and a large Fuji (can't remember model) that they wanted $70 for it. I offered $30, they refused and I walked away.
Up for tomorrow is the
