How do size a vintage frame pump?

Another one of those nit-picky questions - how do to choose the right size vintage frame pump? I need to buy a vintage Silca Impero and they come in many sizes. I have no idea what I need. My frame is a 58cm C-C but based on the picture in the original catalog and some measurements I'd say the overall lenth of the pump when mounted should be in the 41-43cm range. Do I get a pump that size or do I have to account for the length of the pump head? And if so, how long is that? Thanks for the help.
