If it looks like a little flip cap...it is you add a squirt of oil periodically to keep it clicking happily along. FWIW in my part of the country regular old 30wt works fine. I give my heavy use bikes maybe a squirt a month the less seldom used ones once a year. Also try to park with the cap in the upright position or you may end up with an oil spot on the floor
