Hi,

I'm in the process of fixing up an 80s Peugeot. As part of the process, I'm pulling out the existing wobbly rear wheel and beat up derailer. I'm going to replace it with a 4 speed Shimano Nexus hub that I got off ebay. The only problem is I need a 4 speed thumb shifter, but Shimano no longer makes the 4 speed.

Anyone have any suggestions where I might find one? (no luck with Ebay or Harris Cyclery)

Any alternitives I can use?

If I was to just use a friction shifter, could this damage the gears?
