Nah, thanks for the replies. I don't mean for this to be a "diagnose my bike problems" thread. I was just curious to see if people who ride fixed gear bikes start to hear things when riding other bikes. If it is a real bike problem I don't mind hunting down to find what it is and repair it. But if it's a common thing for people who ride fixed gear and get used to the quiet can all of a sudden develop a sensitive ear to other bike sounds. Like "ghost noises" or something.
Again, I like tinkering and don't mind taking my bike apart to learn something new. I just don't want to take my bike apart and later find that the noise is just normal sound of operation, like the whole thing was some sort of snipe hunt.
I'm wondering if maybe people end up going 100% fixed gear cause they get too used to the quiet and the noise of other bikes start to drive them crazy. I'm not all together sure if the sound is real. Just bearly audible over the wind flutter. It's so slight it's like one strand of a spider's web, but if that one strand gets on my hair it'll drive me crazy all day.
Anyways, I probably should have done this as a poll:
A) Bike (Any sound indicates a problem)
B) Your head (Common to notice slight noises)
C) Ha Ha Haaaaa! (Suffa!)
