Is that the only gear in which that happens? Is there a little bit of a grinding sound as well? If you try pushing the shifter as if you're about to shift into a 2-3 but stopping maybe just an eighth of the way and holding it there (so it doesn't actually shift, just tightens the cable a little bit) does it get any better? Worse?
