The workout got cut short when while motor pacing a car during a descent, I hit a metal bracket dropped on to the road by someone. It flatted both tires at nearly the same instant. The rear tire puncture was not as bad as the front. I was able to hold about 60 psi in it. The front had a gash in it and would not hold any pressure even after trying some Tufo sealant. Another cyclist by the name of Alex stopped to see if he could help. He suggested a more direct route back to Oregon Ridge. Also, he said he'd get his car and come back to check on me. I met him on Tufton Rd. He drove me back to Oregon Ridge Park.
This is why I ride Tufo tubular clinchers. When they flat, they won't fall off of the rim, unless you are in a very tight turn. Once they've gone flat, you can still ride them even if the sealant doesn't work.
