I know. It wasn't actually in the dumpster yet, but I got it through a "freecycling" listing from someone who was ready to toss it. She was storing it for a friend who'd moved away, and she was completely clueless about bikes. Funny thing is, so was I. I was looking to get into road cycling by finding a free junker to fix up and learn on. It was only once I brought it into Yellow Jersey and started doing some research that I realized what a rare, high quality find it is.

I'm trying to take good care of it. I just finished a full winter restoration (pictures here).
