i used the 105 version of those pedals, for my track bike. the only problem i had with them was once, the toe clip broke (i was using plastic clips) on my way home. my only real beef with them now is that you can't put a second strap on them for the toes. i have two sets of normal platform toeclip pedals now and i run dual straps on both pairs. it makes a HUUUGE difference. the little ridge at the back usually sat just behind the balls of my feet, and THAT got a little uncomfortable at times as there isn't any support between the front piece where the clip bolts on and the back ridge. i never had a problem with them scoring my shoes. they take a little while to get used to just because it's a different design.
if you end up not liking them, and still want to go with clips and straps i reccommend the MKS sylvan track pedals, set up with two sets of straps.
