Assuming I can work out a couple of scheduling issues, I'll be at the NC State TT as a Cat4 as well. Things to consider when comparing times with other areas are:

- Flatness. The NC championship course will indeed be flat which leads to fast times.

- Altitude. Being at sea-level is a significant aerodynamic disadvantage compared to, say, 5000 feet.

- Road conditions. I have no idea how good/bad the roads are but they're not going to be as good as Lowe's Motorspeedway.

- Number of turns. As far as I can tell, there's one turnaround at the halfway point. That means faster times.

- Wind. This is the wildcard, of course, but I think we can expect wind to play a significant role in the NC Championship TT. I would expect times to be about 3-4 mph faster on the out leg than the back leg. This is the only area in which having a fixed gear bike will put you at a disadvantage compared to everyone else.

I would guess that the winning Cat4 time is somewhere in the 56 minute range.
