'07 Camelbak straps

Ok I decided I wanted a compact camelbak that holds 3 liters.. I looked at some at the sporting goods store and the camelbak LOBO is perfect for what I need.

So I order an 07 model camelback lobo from the net. The bag arrives and is apparently an updated model from what I looked at as it has a stupid "slider sternum strap". While it looks better than the old design. Every time you move the shoulder straps at all, these rails make a squeaking noise. I haven't wore it, but I'd imagine it's real annoying.. so I'm returning it. I've thrown out $100 shoes for making less noise.

Does anyone own a 07 camelbak and know how to quiet down these straps?? or should I just return it. This has to be the most annoying design flaw I have ever seen.
