depends on the frame size too. If you ride a 52cm your not going to want a 140mm stem but if you ride a 60cm it may be reasonable to have a 140mm stem.

It seems to be that...
90 is on the short side
100 is ok
110 is a good
120 is a good
130 is a good but longer
140 is long but will work
