My Blackburn is the aluminum one pictured above. It easily inflates to 120 psi, and it is rock solid on the three bikes I've used it with since I bought it in terms of stability (and again, it has the hole).

I can't imagine using anything else on a bike that had a peg, as it's so easy to use, is aerodynamic (more of a concern for cyclists other than myself who actually race), and has never come off...even in a crash. It even stayed in place on a bike I had that had no peg - I just put a pull-tie on the head tube and it never went anywhere. It would be nice to have the flexible extension, but it's not an issue as you just put the head against the ground as you pump and let'er rip.
