Highly recommended. They're the only thing I'll ride (of course, I haven't tried much else). True that they'll wear out sort of fast. Unless you skid for fun, though, or ride really fast in the city, you'll probably be fine for over a year.

If you look on eBay, you could probably get a pair for about $50.

And as mentioned previously, that zipping sound is sweet.
