Sorry raiyn. I use a similar system (a tube I need to angle to catch the side) and Ihave done this with 5 headsets, all of them continued to work just fine. Just be careful not to overhit one spot and rotate where you hit and everything comes out nice and even and undamaged.

While I am a diy kind of guy, if you aren't entirely sure how to do it or have any concerns, then the bikeshop is the way to go.

Besides pressing it back in is the actual difficult part. In concept it isn't hard to make a diy headset press, but the force required can make for a lot of trial and error on bolts, washers etc.
