Is Dia-Compe the main manufacturer for the long reach brakes?
The type of brakes that you may install depends on your frame and rim diameter. You can't install long reach brakes on a frame that's designed for short reach and vice versa (unless you use contraptions like those http://sheldonbrown.com/home-drop.html ).

If you want modern long reach (or very long reach) brakes, you should take a look at stuff Tektro makes.
