When my lab was small, she used to ride (actually slept until we stopped somewhere..lol) in the front basket with a pillow underneath. Now it's a doggy trailer (and she still sleeps during the ride). But I only take her with me when I cruise the beach paths. Too bad she couldn't stay small, she's used to going everywhere with us and let's you know about it if you leave her behind...lol. Anyhoo, it's better for her to take a regular walk and get her exercise...she likes to try to make friends with everybody she meets or to just pull me around to smell everything...lol. Besides it's easier to know what she wants...water, snacks, pit stop, etc...if she's on a leash.
