Portland had a good turnout. The police escorted us and blocked traffic all the way. They were great. The executive director of our local bike advocacy organization spoke after the ride. It was most moving that he was crying along with many of us riders. For those of you with children: Teach them what black armbands mean. It was weird that most people were asking us what they were for. It may be high church of me, but I thought everyone knew about mourning bands. Guess not.
