I haven't been close to the house in years, so I can't remember what the columns are made of. The house itself is an interesting story. It was build about 6 years ago, according to rumor, the guy who sold the Money Store to First Union/Wachovia built it with the spare change from his windfall. The contractor on the job told me he invested about 4 million in the construction. He and his wife had a difference of opinion, and never moved into the house. It's been vacant, and for sale several different times in the past 5 years. Nobody has ever lived in it. It sold (reportedly for 1.7 million) last year, and the remodelers have been there since. It is my understanding they are replacing all the mechanicals from water damage due to flooding of the basement. The sheetrock is being replaced because rodents took up living in the wall cavities and much of the plumbing is being replaced because of repeated freezing and thawing. They've been there about 6 or 7 months now, and the "tour" bus motor home they are using as an office is still on site.
