Seriously, you're making BD bike owners look bad.
I bought a Moto on ebay because I'm a college student looking to get into riding and can't afford to get a good LBS bike at this point of time. Users such as DrPete have been nothing but supportive about the decision to go ahead and do it, especially because I want to learn to repair the bikes as well. (I want to help out at my colleges bike co-op. I've already helped with repacking hub bearings, not bad for a noobie eh? My BB feels a little loose, looks like I have work to do!)

I honestly don't know why it matters so much to some people to justify what's under their backside. If you love the bike and can afford it, that's great! If you can't afford a pinny and buy a BD bike because you like the bang for the buck, then all the power to you.

In either case, you should ride the heck outta it. That's what freaking matters... Stop getting into buyers remorse and looking to vehemently defend your decision. It's not worth it.

Sorry for the 'rant' but I've been up since 10 in the morning yesterday writing an anthro paper, so I'm in the wordy kinda mood.

Enjoy...

PS- This kinda reminds me of when I was made fun of for my cheapy skateboards as a kid. I tried the better ones that some kids had, but they still didn't help me ride any better. I loved the feeling of just riding them, and my joy didn't change with what was under my feet.
Peace, I gots a paper to write!
