Might depend on the outcome. There's no assurance of where fault will ultimately be assigned. The mere fact that your bike was trashed does not nec. mean that he or his insurance co must pay. In fact, in some states, the fact that you hit him would be the end of discussion: Your fault. And that's regardless of the fact that he apologized, etc. So be prepared for the possibility that if you find the guy, he'll contest fault. If so, assume it will end up in court (in which case be sure of your argument of his fault), and know that if it does go to court, it would likely be noted on your drivers license.
