Sorry to sound negative, but I don't want you to get your hopes up. Belt drive variable transmissions on bicycles have already been on the market. It's a really bad idea and they don't sell. Belt drive for a bicycle ruins the entire concept completely. They work in snomoblies and motorcycles somewhat because they can put up with the power losses. But they are not great. The reason you don't see them much is because it's been tried many times over the years and they are terrible. Search the forums and you can find out a lot of the details about them and maybe a link to the ones already on bicycles. It's been discussed to death over and over. It's nothing new.
