Cyclist are all demanding more bike awareness, and support to be on roads and highways and the only way to do this is to iniate laws that allow them to be road legal. In doing that, being classified as a vehicle, if you file a report stating an accident with a "vehicle" it will go on your record.
That being said, I feel for you. I am very glad to hear you did not get hurt.
But please please listen to your body VERY carefully for the next few years... Crashing into something at 20mph can cause serious long term effects. What may not be a problem now, may result in peralysis in 10 years.
if you feel anything odd, stop riding and go see a doctor imedately.

We can't have our cake and eat it too. If we want the same priveleges as drivers on the road then we have to take the same responsibilities.
