I've often refered to them this way - mainly to eliminate the confusion that no bike lanes does not mean no pavement space. It is the stripe I have issues with, not the space.

If I write: "Bike lanes should end 200' before all intersections", this can be misinterpreted. What I advocate for is "bike lane stripes should end 200 before all intersections"
