I live in the same house that my grandparents lived in when my mother was a young child. I moved into this house with my wife shortly before my grandfather died. Within the last year I've returned to cycling after having not been on a cycle for about 5 years (end of college). I've been wanting to get into restoring cycles, but I don't know where to start.
Today I made a find that will get me started.

When my mother was a child my grandfather bought her a Western Flyer bicycle, and when she discovered other interests, the bike was stored in the basement. I've seen the bike many times as a child, but I've never given attention to it's need for restoration. It is in beautiful condition with only dust covering it from top to bottom and flat tires (of course). It remains in my basement, untouched, waiting for me to restore it. The only problem is I don't know where to start. My mechanical skills right now are limited to being able to change a bicycle tire, so I'll have to start with the basics. Can anyone help? Where do I start? I can't wait to begin!
