Well the lawyers are doing the CYA, but they have to contend with the LCD. I use a bell as it fits my skull best without much padding modifications, one that fits without extra padding and no hard points is the way to go, I also happen to replace mine about every 3 years, they get grungy, no matter how well one cleans them, (if not ride harder) and polystyrene even with UV inhibitors is not long term durable, I look for white, coolest temp, least offensive, as visually neutral as one can get. And I avoid the "pintail" extensions most often found on the top tier helmets, one day there will be a study of neck injuries made worse by the pivoting of one's head (or stopping) due to the tail extension.
