Clipless falls is part of the humiliating entry into road biking. I can well remember several in the first few weeks of going clipless, including my driveway. You look stupid and feel stupid, but it gets better. After not riding in the winter for a few months, I go out and do some practice runs on quiet streets practicing clipping in and out, starting, stopping, etc. What gets you is the sudden stops where you just plain forget that you need to unclip quickly enough.

I would also recommend loosening the clips to where they hold you in securely, but you can twist out with minimal pressure.
