then what is the best technical fit? a lot of people seem to think you need a fistful or more of seatpost showing for the bike to fit. what is the purpose of that? it doesn't make sense to me ergonomically. this is a serious question, no sarcasm intended.

also, to the guy who asked, its a 58... which is not my size usually but with the flat bars its the perfect top tube length, and my legs are in good position with about three fingers of seat tube... which i know isnt the best fit on a technical stand point, but it feels good.
