Recall that the heavier a body is, the greater the relative mass of bone that is required to support it. Height doesn't enter into that equation. Individual variations may mask this trend in small populations, but it is there nonetheless. It follows then that strictly considering lean body mass (LBM), the smaller man will have the advantage in power::weight.
A taller man might have more leverage, but that is a *detriment*, since greater strength is required to move that lever.
Your coaches height::weight is probably a short-cut to determining LBM::total mass, or % of body fat.
