brunop, I've read other forums regarding living after gas prices makes it too much of a burden to drive.

People will gladly take an improved public transit infrastructure before before they have to walk or ride a bicycle. That's just the way most of us are (not us in the living car-free forum here on bikeforums, of course ). I don't think there's anything wrong with that if we can set up a good public transit system like what they have in some parts of Europe.
